Do i give him something?

for valentines day my boyfriend & his friend surprised me by stopping by my house, which is about 30-40 minutes away. they didn't stay very long, but he left me flowers on my doorstep. i have a shirt that i could give him, but idk if i should give it to him or get him something else. the flowers didn't seem very expensive, & we've been dating about 3 months.
