Unemployment Extended Benefits cut off date and temp work?
I worked a temp job for a month and was offered another ignment for an additional four weeks because they liked my work. The weeks I worked the temp job disqualified me for regular unemployment benefits because it was more than my weekly benefit amount. However if I didn't work the temp job at all my regular benefits would have exhausted by November 12, 2010 before the extended benefits qualification date November 20, 2010 . But since I did work and decided to work the additional weeks, I will miss the payout deadline for Extended Benefits. I was concern about this and called Unemployment, and the rep told me, if I wouldn't had worked the temp job I would have qualified for EUC and then he proceeded to tell me to work less hours. Is he correct because it seems like I am being penalized for working? Is anyone else working temp jobs being faced with this problem?
