Gay women/s, do you prefer to be called: a , or a gay woman?

I'm a gay guy and it's fairly simply with me. I just say I'm gay. But then I've known some gay women to loath the word "" and only like to be address as being "gay." But then again I know some girls that find the word "" empowering. And some people intertwine both terms back and forth. I was just curious. :-P
